With a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Alexandria Titans on June 13, VYS Premier White won the NCSL U13 Division 5 championship.  Premier White finished the season strong with this win over the Titans as well as a 3-2 victory over a previously unbeaten FREE Strikers 96 team the week before, which placed Vienna alone atop the Division.  In a truly remarkable improvement from the Fall 2009 season (where the team finished 7th with a 3-5-1 record) Premier White compiled an impressive 8-1-0 record, with 19 goals for and 7 against.  Complete division standings and statistics can be found here.

The team is currently preparing for the Hershey Invitational, as well as a busy summer of preparation for entry into NCSL Division 4 in the fall.  Congratulations to all the players of VYS Premier White as well as Head Coach Jonathan Frias and Assistant Coach Andhy Retamal!

The U-14 Boys VYS Excel Red (Division 1 NCSL) were champions of their group this past weekend at the highly competitive Adidas Potomac Memorial Tournament with teams coming from all over the east coast to compete.  Excel Red defeated Arlington Suprema Inferno in penalty kicks after regulation and overtime finished in a 1-1 tie.  Excel Red had earlier in group play lost to the Arlington team 2-1.  To reach the finals, Excel Red defeated a team from Long Island NY 4-1, a team from Baltimore 2-1, and local rival CYA Shock 3-1 in the semi-finals.  The win was a great team effort and well earned by the boys.

VYS Viva Vienna travel team wins the NVSC Battlefield tournament held in Manassas, Virginia over the Columbus Day weekend.Viva Vienna had an impressive record winning all four games, including three shut outs. The championship match went down to the end with Viva Vienna scoring on a counter attack with less than 5 minutes left in the game.

The Viva Vienna outstanding teammates are Emily Calhoun, Rachel Carlton, Nicole Carrillo-Vallejo, Madeline Chiarizia, Celia Dauerer, Audrey Kellan, Cathy Maroney, Charis McClain, Katherine Milton, Vanessa Natale, and Kaitlyn Rubley, Samantha Sechser, and April Williams.They are proudly coached by Jill Maroney and Paul Carrillo

Throughout the tournament, the team took the opportunity to showoff the skills, tactics, and teamwork they developed this season. Every player was at the top of their game.
