The Comets Team will participate in a minimum of one Community Service Project per season. We feel strongly that our girls need to be upstanding community and team players both on and off the field of soccer, and be involved in local service activities. Here are a few of the Comets service projects in recent seasons:
- In June 2006, the Comets players and seven parents helped serve dinner to nearly 100 local cancer survivors at the Vienna ’Relay for Life’ event held at Oakton H.S.
In December 2006, the Comets team "Adopted a Family" of 5 for the holidays ensuring all their needs were met and exceeded. Each Comets player raised money to afford a needy family a wonderful holiday with an additional grocery gift certificate
In June 2007, the Comets Team participated in "Roll Out the Joy" with a local church to collect new or slightly used soccer balls that will be shipped to the U.S. soldiers in Iraq to give to Iraqi children.
