History
VYS Premier Red

More than half of the current VYS Premier Red roster played together many years ago in the U7 and U8 VYS house league.  When it was time to enter the travel program, they started in the U9 age group of the National Capitol Soccer League (NCSL) in Fall 2005 as VYS Dynamite and VYS Galaxy.  In the Fall 2006 season, the team morphed into VYS Premier Red under co-coaches Marc Beck and Tim Fleischer.  At that time, the team was trained by former MLS professional John Maessner and after a very successful U10 season, was poised for Fall 2007 as a U11 - Division 1 team.  Premier Red maintained their NCSL Div 1 status through Spring 2008 and Fall 2008 under the guidance of Coach Fleischer and trainer Stevie Alabi, finishing first in Division 1.  In the Spring of 2009, the team transitioned to a new coaching and training regimen under the oversight of John Maessner, DC United Director of Youth Development along with former DC United players and Development Academy staff Roberto da Silva and Micah Cooks.  The team continued to excel in NCSL Division 1 and under the guidance of Coach Cooks, became the 2009 VA State Cup and Region I Champions.  In the Fall of 2009, Coach Cooks became the exclusive Coach and Trainer of the now U13 Premier Red.
