VYS Eagles Red (formerly "The Strikers"), a U14 boys travel soccer team, competes in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).
The team is coached by Hadi Rezazad. Coach Hadi has been involved with soccer for over 35 years, both as a player and coach. He holds a National "B" License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), National Youth License from USSF, as well as National Goal Keepers Coaching License from National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
In addition, he is a trainer for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) for the Virginia Youth soccer Association (VYSA) of the State of Virginia. Coach Hadi is also the head coach of the VYS Fusion Red, a U19 girls travel team competing in Washington Area Girls Soccer league (WAGSL), and he coaches TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for soccer).
The coach’s philosophy is that it is possible and important to maintain a balance between "development" and "competitiveness" for all players, while ensuring the enjoyment of the game. The team promotes high standards of sportsmanship and a healthy and safe playing environment.
The primary coaching goal is to help develop the players to better understand the game of soccer, improve individual technical skills, learn tactics and strategies, and work as a team on the field. Special focus is on helping the players take the next step in becoming more advanced and more competitive in playing the game; while ensuring the enjoyment of the game. All efforts and activities are conducted in a healthy team environment with emphasis on discipline and sportsmanship.
