VYS U14G Thunder Black Wins Annandale Premier Cup 2013

This past weekend VYS Thunder Black won the under girls 14 Adidas Premier division in the Annandale Premier Cup.

The team fought hard all weekend and on Saturday March 16th tied Arlington Forza 1 to 1 as well as FASA Elite Impact 2 to 2. The ties were enough to put VYS Thunder into the playoffs on Sunday March 17th to play Annandale BGC Xtreme 98 who they defeated by a score of 1 to 0 sending them to the finals later that day.

In the finals VYS Thunder played Thunder SC Saifu from Maryland hard until the end of the game where it remained a 0 to 0 tie. After two overtimes with no score the game went into Penalty Kicks whereas VYS Thunder outshot Thunder SC Saifu after seven penalty kicks to result in a 1 to 0 victory.

for participating in the Super Y League tournament held in Bradenton, FL, on Dec 8-9.

The team won in the semis 1-0 to a tough Michigan team, came up short 0-1 to the Long Island Rough Riders.

An amazing weekend of soccer made even more memorable by the bestowing of medals by women’s soccer great, Mia Hamm!

Congratulations to VYS U14G Thunder Black for finishing as first runner up in the CASL Tournament in Raleigh, NC on Nov 3-4, 2012.

Thunder Black went undefeated into their championship game.  Great job girls!!!

Five VYS players from the rising U14 Girls Thunder team secured their first Super Y South Atlantic Championship over this past weekend in Atlanta Georgia beating Southern Soccer Academy 2:0 and Atlanta Fire United 4:1.

The U13G Virginia Alliance team plays in the summer Super Y-League and is coached by Todd Hamlin and Nadir Moumen.

The VYS players include: E. Brockman, P. Emory, B. Mitchell, A. Moschella and B. O’Donnell.

The girls will now advance to the National championship in December in Tampa Bay Florida. Here they will meet other Super Y players from across North America and compete for the national title.
