Simply Sharing Shirts, February 2015

VYS player and 6th grader Isabel Williamson wants to share soccer shirts with kids in Latin America and hope you can help her.
Long-time VYS player and 6th grader Isabel Williamson wants to provide uniforms to soccer kids in Latin America, so she started a project called, Simply Sharing Shirts. After a recent visit to Chile and Mexico watching a group of kids play soccer, she said, "I remember thinking how difficult it must be to not be able to tell the teams apart. I felt bad that I had so many shirts that I never wore anymore, because I get a new one every season and these kids didn’t have any."
This prompted her to start a shirt drive to collect used athletic shirts to donate to the kids in Latin America.
"I have already collected more than 20 shirts that will be heading to a school named Escuela Elsa Head in Nicaragua in mid-February.", says Williamson.
VYS is excited for Isabel for taking the initiative to help others and is proud to support her cause. If you have any old, gently-used VYS shirts that you would like to donate, please drop them off at the Walk-In Registration, Feb 7th between 10am -2pm at Cunningham Park ES.
If you can't make the Walk-In event, you can still donate your VYS soccer shirts by contacting Isabel at donate@simplysharingourshirts.com.
