Field Permits

Click here to download Winter 2018 Field Permits (pdf)

You MUST carry a permit to the field at ALL times, practices, scrimmages and games.  Without your permit, you do not have permission to use the field.  (electronic permits are acceptable).

Please remind families that pets are not permitted at Fairfax County Public School fields, otherwise we could lose field privileges.

How To Request A Change in Field Assignment or to Obtain Additional Field Space

To ensure that we can process the fields’ requests from our ~300 house and travel teams, VYS requires that all field requests adhere to the following procedure:

  1. First check the Practice Schedule to determine which fields are available for the date and time you are seeking.
  2. Once you determine which field is available, fill out the Practice Schedule Request form.

Questions about this process?  Please contact fieldsmgr@vys.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

"HELP!  My permit ends at 7:00 pm but my practice goes later than that.  What should I do?"
You may stay until your scheduled practice time is over OR until dark.

"I live right near a field, so I can run over there and check it to see if it's play-able or not. Unfortunately, I am not a field expert so please explain to me what I need to look for to help me make a determination."
Check the overall condition, how wet is the ground, are there lots of puddles, areas where there is little or no grass is it muddy, is it easy to separate the top layer of grass from the ground with your shoe, do you think the field will get ruined if it is played on. If you see puddles on the field, then the field should be closed. Also, if you put your hand on the ground and mud and water come up through your fingers, then the field should also be closed.

Returning items to shed: Everyone needs to do their part to keep the shed organized. Please do not toss equipment back in. Place items in their correct spot, so everyone has access to the equipment they need.

House – since you only use your goals on Saturdays, they are all the way in the back crosswise. Please return them to that position. The corner flags are in the near left hand corner of the shed.
