Coaching Philosophy

The VYS coaching philosophy is centered on player development and can be characterized by 4 main components:

 

-Training and competition are age and ability based

 

-Training is reality-based

 

-Learning is experiential

 

-Coaching is holistic

 

 

 

Coach Expectations

 

-All VYS Travel teams are coached by VYS professional staff.

 

-Coaches are expected to attend Fall/Spring training sessions, Fall/Spring games, tournaments, and VYS-sponsored winter training.

 

-Players/parents should not expect to have the same Coach for more than one year.

 

-VYS never intends to make a coaching change during the year.
