2018 Summer VYS Super Y League Tryouts is Complete. Spots still available on certain teams. Please contact Nicole Peters, Super Y Director at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information
Super Y is a competitive Summer program focused on player development and has established themselves over the past 18 years as the best operated Summer youth league in North America with unparalleled experience through advanced player tracking, strong development resources, and valuable college soccer connections.
The league is organized in geographic divisions and VYS teams compete in the Mid-Atlantic division against other clubs in Virginia and Maryland. Each team plays between 8 and 12 games with half of them at home in Vienna. Teams have the opportunity to qualify (based on division standing) for the Super Y Finals in Bradenton, FL in December, and compete for a National Championship.

2018 Tryouts are complete.
There may be some spots still available on certain teams. Please contact Nicole Peters, Super Y Director at email@example.com for more information.
For players who are in VYS Travel Soccer 2017-2018, does VYS Super Y conflict at all with the Travel Soccer training / game schedule?
The program is structured so players can do both. Trainings start after the Spring season has ended and we make an effort to end games by the first weekend in August in preparation for the Fall season.
Which age groups are eligible for Super Y?
The VYS Super Y program is open for all age eligible VYS players, as well as non-VYS players. VYS will enter 10 teams at the U10-U18 age groups for both girls and boys.
Summer 2018 VYS Super Y Age Groups
Every Super Y age group encompasses two birth year age groups. If you do not see your child's birth year age group below, register for the next older age group.
|Age Group||Birth Years|
|U10||2009 & 2008|
|U12||2007 & 2006|
|U14||2005 & 2004|
|U16||2003 & 2002|
|U18||2001 & 2000|
What are the fees?
- 2018 VYS Super Y fees are $550. Financial aid is available, see below.
- There is no charge to try out.
- Uniform costs are not included. VYS Travel players will be able to use their current Travel uniforms. Those without VYS Travel uniforms, can easily and quickly purchase them through our travel uniform vendor, soccer.com
Who are the coaches?
The VYS Super Y coaching slate is being finalized and will be released as soon as available. Coaches will be provided from the VYS Travel program.
Where and when are practices and games?
Two weekday practices will be held in Vienna beginning in June and ending in early August. Games are usually on the weekends, but can also be scheduled during the week. A tentative schedule will be released in May to provide an expectation of the upcoming summer season.
How many players will teams carry?
Teams will carry rosters large enough to enable players to miss sessions for family vacations, regional and national club and ODP tournaments. VYS plans (with some flexibility) to roster 18 players for U10 and U12 teams, and 22 players for U14 and above teams. While these numbers are higher than VYS traditionally carries in the regular season, our experience has shown that we need to ensure we have an adequate number of players on game day.
What is new in the 2018 season?
- Tentative schedules will be released a full month earlier to give teams more time to plan
- Games will not begin until spring seasons and the FCPS school year have ended
Does VYS offer Financial Aid for Super Y?
VYS offers financial aid for players who qualify. Please refer to our Financial Aid Policy for Super Y League on the Financial Aid page.
