Becoming involved in the VYS House Program is a great way to go the extra mile in the community, and assist our aspiring soccer players. We are always seeking the help of enthusiastic community leaders, especially Coaches!
Help ignite a lifetime love of soccer and create a team bond with our aspiring young players! Head Coaches are responsible for leading 1-2 practice sessions a week and 1 game each weekend (typically Saturday). No prior experience needed, VYS provides session plans, training, equipment, and a VYS shirt to all Head Coaches.
Everyone has busy schedules, and Coaching soccer is a commitment. Having Assistant Coaches ready to lend a helping hand is key! Responsible for helping organize practices and games, and supporting our players. Assistant Coaches may be asked to step in if a coach is sick or has an emergency.
Becoming involved in the Travel Academy program is a great way to coaches and team members during the season. The involvement of Travel Volunteers allows coaches to place their focus on the field maximizing the soccer experience for the players.
Team Managers will be involved in different aspects of Travel Academy Programs operations for their specific teams and help coaches during the soccer year. Training is provided for all volunteer managers before the start of each season.
Counselor in training (CITS) always needed Weekdays during Summer & Non-instructional school days. Rising High School Freshman, Sophomores & Juniors. Applicants should be at least 14 years old, patient, dedicated, fun-loving, reliable, responsible, personable, and hard-working. Student Service Learning Hours provided to Counselors in Training for VYS Camps.
Buddies are special volunteers who come out to the practices and work with the TOPSoccer players, cheering them on and helping them experience the game of soccer. TOPSoccer is always searching for soccer players U12 and older to volunteer as Buddies. Training is provided for volunteers and no prior TOPSoccer experience is required. Sessions take place every Saturday from 2:30 - 4:30pm at Freedom Hill ES during the Spring and Fall. Volunteers are not required to attend every practice.

The VYS Recycle Your Game program takes place at the start of the Spring and Fall seasons. The program is designed to provide LACES for their youth soccer programming around the world. Rising High School Freshman, Sophomores & Juniors. Interested people can participate in this program and help collect equipment during the day of the event. Student Service Learning Hours provided to Recycle Your Game volunteers.
All VYS Volunteers are required to complete the required screening process prior volunteering in VYS activities which include a background check and SafeSport training.
In conjunction with VYSA the club runs background checks on every VYS volunteer over the age of 18. Invitations to background checks are provided through Trusted Employee and are valid for 2 years and are subject to additional screening.
All Team Officials rostered on travel and recreational teams for the 2021-2022 year will be required to complete the SafeSport training. The SafeSport training will be valid for 1 year, with a refresher course required each year after.
