Since the Spring of 1975, Vienna Youth Soccer has provided a positive soccer experience for all players in the Vienna and surrounding areas of Fairfax County while instilling a lifelong love of soccer. Over the course of 50 years, we have grown to serve more than 3,500 players annually. Our progress is thanks to the dedication of our players, coaches, community, and supporters. In 2025, we will observe this milestone with a year long celebration. Below you will find more details about our history, our current programs & initiatives, and upcoming events that will support our goal to grow and make the game accessible to all.

Initiatives
A Lifetime of Soccer
VYS is committed to creating a positive culture in which coaches, parents, fans, officials and players have the tools and training necessary to build character, confidence, and a lifelong love of soccer. Our goal is to provide a continuum of competitive, high quality, and positive soccer experience for all players in the Vienna community.
No Room for Abuse
VYS is dedicated to protecting our referees by creating a positive and healthy community to stay aligned with our mission. By drawing attention to abusive behavior, the club aims to eliminate this habit from our beautiful game and maintain a fun and friendly atmosphere. Through our efforts, we hope other clubs and communities follow suit as we look to tackle this problem together.
Futsal Courts
Futsal is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. It’s played in every major country and some of the greatest soccer players credit playing futsal in the off-season as the reason for their exceptional ball handling skills. Futsal can provide VYS players a unique environment in which they can express their creativity and improve their skills. The club believes that the court will not only benefit players, but the community as well, through developing relationships and promoting social inclusion.

Throughout the year, we will host multiple events that bring our community together, from seasonal celebrations to fundraising galas. About our Programs
House League
The VYS U5-U19 House League is our volunteer-based recreational program that emphasizes fun, friendship, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a no-pressure environment. The House League is an 8-week program with teams practicing one time a week and playing games on Saturdays.
Travel Program
The VYS Travel Program challenges our players to develop as players and leaders while competing at a high level. VYS Travel players should expect experiential learning and a holistic approach led by our professional coaching staff.
Referees
Vienna Youth Soccer hires certified referees to officiate play in its recreational House Soccer Program. Individuals age 13 or older interested in becoming a soccer referee are encouraged to pursue referee training and certification.
TOPSoccer
In affiliation with US Youth Soccer, TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer), offers the opportunity to join in the soccer fun to players with disabilities, ages 4 to 19 years old. Each child is paired with one or two volunteer buddies and coaches. This program is fully funded by VYS.
U4 Cubs
Led by our professional staff, U4 Cubs introduces the fundamentals of soccer to our youngest players. The eight-week curriculum has been developed to explore basic techniques and inspire a love for the game. Cubs is highly interactive and fun!
Futsal
Our Summer Futsal Skill Training focuses on nurturing every player’s individual skills, game intelligence and confidence. Our academy staff designs each session to maximize touches on the ball and decision-making opportunities in tight spaces going to goals.
Adult League
Our Adult League offers all parents, former players, and those with no formal soccer experience the opportunity to build a community of friends while having fun and staying active. Open during the Spring, Summer, and Fall for Over 30.
Coaches
In US Licensed Grassroots courses, learn from our VYS Directors the fundamentals of coaching. In both an online and on-field course, you will get invaluable hands-on experience.
