About VYS Juniors

Juniors’ U9-U10 prepare players to progress at the Competitive level and beyond through a dedicated coaching staff that provides quality, age appropriate instruction at these critical age groups. The focus is on development of the individual player in a group setting, and a low coach-to-player ratio allows for consistent player support.

 

Teams train 2 times a week, compete in 8-10 League games and will attend 2-3 tournaments throughout each season (Fall/Spring). Positions within the Competitive Program are year-long commitments for a 10 month season, August through May.

Tryouts

Travel Tryouts occur every spring and are open to all players. There is no cost to tryout, but players must register prior to attending.

NCSL

Our Junior teams play in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).  Teams play 8-9 games each season (fall and spring) against clubs primarily from Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland. 

 

Schedules vary, but a typical schedule will include half of the games at home locations and half at away locations.

Fees

The Initial Deposit is due when you accept a roster spot. Club Fees can be made upfront or in paid in installments.

Uniforms

Fall 2023 begins the Club’s 2-year Adidas uniform cycle. VYS players will be using the uniform kit through the end of the Spring 2025 season.


Uniform kits are purchased from PJ's Soccer and Lacrosse by the parents/guardians of each player after receiving an invitation from VYS. Players must have the current uniform to be eligible to play.

Practices

VYS practice schedules are available approximately two weeks prior to the season. However, VYS will endeavor to provide the schedule to all age groups at the earliest possible convenience.
